Knapping Obsidian Arrowheads

I also finally connected obsidian with arrowheads. Later in the trip I bought a chunk of obsidian from a rock shop and a friend and I proceeded to pulverize it on a picnic table in Colorado National Monument. I didn't even understand the concept of flake, but it was the beginning of a long obsession with knapping. To begin knapping, collect two loose stones: granite, andesite, basalt, peridotite, obsidian, or flint and place them in an active hotbar slot.

Our 'cut and ground preforms' are rounded on all sides, thinned out, making pressure flaking and knapping faster. Chipping is much easier because the ground preforms are set up for you to make the perfect finished piece.

Our 'preshaped' items are only shaped into a point on either side. It is still thick like a slab, but still very useful in the knapping world!
